Algonquin Boys/Girls Basketball Information

2024 Boys Basketball Tryouts *UPDATE 11/6 11:50am

Due to family emergencies 8th grade boys basketball tryouts will be run by Mr. Strom and Mr. Petterle 11/6.  Here is a breakdown of the upcoming dates and what is happening on each day:

1. 11/6- 7th grade tryouts (day 2), 8th grade tryouts (final day)
2. 11/7- 7th grade tryouts (day 3), 8th grade practice with Mr. Petterle
3. 11/8- No boys basketball practice 
4. 11/11-11/13 7th grade practice, 8th grade practice with Mr. Petterle
5. 11/14- Mr. Trombley returns (if all goes to plan)

Algonquin Boys Basketball Remind101

Once cuts have been made, all players and their parents need to sign up for the Algonquin Boys Basketball Remind 101. To join, please click the link below and follow the instructions.

After a student makes the cut for the basketball team, there are additional steps that need to be completed.

Online Paperwork- Student-athletes and parents need to go to FamilyID.com and go to the “Find a Program” section to search for Algonquin. This will bring you to a heading that says Chippewa Valley High School. Below that heading your will see “Algonquin Athletic Registration”. Click that to complete the paperwork for basketball.

Pay for Warm-up T-shirt- About a week after cuts are made, Mr. Trombley will be assigning a fee to each player in PaySchools Central for their warm-up t-shirt. Mr. Trombley will send a Remind101 out when the fee is assigned to all of the players. Parents can check PaySchools Central periodically to see if the payment is there and can be paid.

Girls Basketball Open Gym Dates for Incoming 9th Graders

Any incoming 9th graders interested in participating in some girls basketball open gyms can attend on the following dates:

Wednesday 6/5, 5:30-7:00 (9th Grade Center – Enter through Door 37)

Friday 6/7, 6:00-7:30 (9th Grade Center – Enter through Door 37)

Monday 6/10, 6:00-7:30 (Aux Gym/Main Building – Enter through Athletic Entrance)

AFTER girls make the cut for the basketball team, the girls and their parents need to sign up for the Algonquin Girls Basketball Remind 101. Mr. Trombley and Mr. Strom will send important information through this group.
