Our Older Fours classroom is designed for children who will be 5 by December 1st of the incoming school year. Throughout the school year, your child will be encouraged to foster their independence and social interaction with others in the classroom which will help them develop and learn skills needed to succeed in school and life.
Our curriculum focuses on further development of social and academic skills. Journaling and new language concepts are introduced. In addition to circle time, crafts, music, physical education and sensory activities, children participate in reading/writing readiness activities, and science and math projects that prepare them for kindergarten. Teachers will ensure that we are empowering our youngest students for a seamless transition into the kindergarten classroom.
This class combines preschool with childcare, with the majority of instruction taking place in the morning and structured activities and free play in the afternoon. The typical daily routine is similar to our extended day preschool. Parents will need to choose the days/times the child will attend and must meet a 2 days weekly requirement.
